Contributor Guidelines Join our Writers List

We are currently accepting submissions from writers & photographers. Whether this is your first submission or you're a seasoned veteran, we welcome you. At this time, we accept previously published work as well as original work. 52 Perfect Days represents an opportunity to get your voice and work "out there".

Writers Guidelines: We are looking for travel writing contributions that focus on one perfect day in U.S. cities or towns or their immediate outskirts as well as Baja Mexico. Please offer original ideas that would be interesting to locals and visitors. Submissions should offer a full day of activity including where to eat, go, and what to see, etc. Nightlife submission should offer a full evening of ideas. The Food category is the only section we accept submissions that stray from a full day of experiences and can either be submitted as a 'round up' piece such as where to find the best pizza, tea, chocolate in town or as a full day of culinary delights.

Think of the submission as a roadmap for one day or evening in this particular town or city. Submissions should range between 600-800 words and fall into one of the following categories:

Family Friendly, Food (covers both food and drink), Outdoors (Nature/outdoors/walking tours), Culture (art/intellectual/cultural/literary), Nightlife, Luxury (includes spa), and Outskirts.

Cities we need writers for:
Boston, Boulder, Denver, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, Palm Springs, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa as well as Baja Mexico.

We will also be adding the following cities in the near future and are looking for writers to submit queries and articles for the Idaho Panhandle, Maui, Oregon Coast and Southern Oregon.

All submissions should include a side bar that includes website, phone number and address for all pertinent references in the submission.

All articles submitted must be the original work of the submitting author. We prefer e-mail submissions. Please email as a Word document as well as pasted into the body of an e-mail to the editor or upload content after registering as a contributor. Be sure to include your name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number on the cover letter, as well as your name on each numbered page. Include a brief bio (50 words or less) with your submission and the email or website you would like linked to the piece.

We do reserve the right to touch up your work and render it more in line with the overall voice and tone of our website.

Writers Submitting Photography: We welcome quality photos. We accept photos via email saved in gif or jpeg formats. They must be attached with your article. Please submit RGB images as jpegs and be at least 525 pixels wide, at 72 dpi. Large photo files that require long download times will not be accepted. Only web quality photos are accepted. We prefer landscape shots rather than portrait.

52 Perfect Days Checklist for Writers:

1. Submit a final draft piece of 600-800 words. We are a source of information above all, so please include a sidebar listing phone number and address of all locations mentioned in the article.

2. We strongly encourage writers to submit photographs with their submission. We prefer horizontal images rather than vertical.

3. Include a photo of yourself for our contributors page

4. Include a brief biography about yourself.

5. Fill our our contributors form, where you can provide us with your Google Adsense code.

Photographers: We also accept stand alone photograph submissions for U.S. cities and towns. We welcome quality photos. We accept photos via email saved in jpeg format. Compensation: We offer revenue sharing via Google Adsense. To register to monetize your articles please fill out the contributor form. With each accepted submission we also offer a byline, will run a short bio with your contact info and place your information in our contributors section.

After you add your AdSense ID to your profile, you are done! The google text ads (which may appear next to your story on the right-side or underneath story or within text) will no longer generate revenue for us but will generate revenue for you.
