I'm glad that you've made your decision, but until the result will be printed, we can still add some topics, that might be useful in the future as well. For instance I find really interesting the adventures one could have on the sea. when you take a cruise for instance and spend some time on the sea can make you write a book about it. what are you saying?
We finally have made our decision. Thanks Tomi for the great National Parks theme. We are going to run with your idea. We look forward to all the great submissions focusing on the many National Parks in this great state!
When will the theme be announced? This page says it was going to be announced by December 31, 2009.
Theme: Icons
What is that little souvenir, that small token or memento that makes you remember that vacation you took either recently or some time ago? What is the story behind your icon?
Enjoy!
Topic: Women Working, Women Waking
Recently the Dalia Lama stated "Women will save the world." Through grassroots efforts, trade collectives and community circles, women around the globe are stepping up to help their communities and effect major changes. Stories that focus on women and their central roles in social and environmental change would be an inspiring and well timed choice.
Theme: Cross Cultural Influences
How you either influenced the area that you visited or vice versa? What you brought back from your experience that changed the lives of you or others. Could be a unique experience, volunteering, etc.
Theme: National Park Hideaways.
Inside every National Park is a hidden jewel whether it's a great camping site or a newly renovated lodge and each has some WONDERFUL activities and one-of-a-kind experiences that help relax & rejuvenate us all. Enjoy!
I like the water idea; very original! But how about stories on travel that has changed one's life? I'm sure most people have had memorable travel experiences, but there are always one or two adventures that change your global outlook or how you live your daily life.
What about all travel entries focus on the topic of water whether it is admiring a beautiful waterfall or a beach vacation. A camping trip on a beautiful lake or kayaking down a river or even a rafting trip.
Hope you like the idea.

Theme: Trips that make adults feel or act like kids again.
Where do you get that feeling like you were an 8-year-old at Disneyland? What trip made you more excited than a kid in a candy store and why?
2010 Topic for Travel Writing Contest - How Traveling enriches your spirit while you meet people from diverse backgrounds & cultures. How we are all ambassadors when we travel and meet people. By sharing new experiences we can break down stereotypes and ignorance while going to a new destination.
Theme: How Traveling Enriches Spiritual Growth & Further Understanding.
Staycations is over and done. Budget has been done to death this year. What about submissions that focus on food or wine.
Theme: Culinary, Cuisine and Libation .. all submissions focus on a perfect day of exploring the foods of a certain city or location. Or stories that focus on wine tasting, pub crawls, a day of tasting tea.
Hope you like the idea.
